Mary Devotion

At St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School, the month of May has been dedicated to honouring Our Lady through prayer, reflection and acts of devotion across our school community.

Throughout the month, every child has been given the opportunity to take home a special ‘Mary on the Move’ worship resource bag. These prayer bags have encouraged families to spend time together in prayer and reflection, helping to strengthen the partnership between home, school and faith.

Each class has also shown their love and devotion to Mary by beautifully decorating their classroom doors with prayers, artwork and symbols dedicated to Our Lady. The creativity and thoughtfulness displayed by the children has created a wonderful atmosphere of prayer and celebration throughout the school.

In our school entrance, we have created a peaceful and prayerful grotto dedicated to Mary. This special space has provided pupils, staff, parents and visitors with an opportunity for quiet reflection and prayer during the month of May.

Alongside this, every class has taken part in weekly worship focused on Mary, exploring her virtues of faith, kindness, humility and service. These moments of collective worship have helped our children grow in their understanding of Mary’s importance within our Catholic faith and inspired them to follow her example in their daily lives.

We are incredibly proud of the reverence, creativity and faith shown by our pupils during this special month of devotion to Our Lady.
